UPLOADING ELECTRICITY UNITS FROM THE 24TH JANUARY 2018

On 18th January 2018, ESCOM changed its pre-paid and post-paid billing systems.

From the 24th of January, 2018, customers will be provided with once-off three tokens upon the purchase of electricity units:
Key Change Token1, Key Change Token2 and the Electricity Units Token.

Before entering the Electricity Units Token, customers must first enter the Key Change Tokens;
starting with Key Change Token1 and then Key Change Token2.
Customers are being alerted that failure to first enter the Key Change tokens will result in rejection of the electricity token by the meter.

Customers are further notified that once the Key Change tokens have been entered into the meter,
all prepaid electricity units purchased prior to 24th January 2018 will not be accepted by the meter.
They must, therefore, ensure that all prepaid tokens acquired or bought prior to 24th January 2018 are uploaded into their meters before entering the key change tokens.
